first day of school breakfast celebration

I actually cannot believe that Lauren is starting KINDERGARTEN this week!

I had to try and channel my disbelief into pure excitement for our girl and celebrate with a big breakfast to kick off her first day right!

We had an Eggo waffles, Apple Jack cereal, yogurt, fruit and juice. I got all of the decorations from A Little Confetti (paper garland, striped plates, colour-changing straws, wooden cutlery) and set the table using these lunch trays as placemats, and these adorable milk carton glasses! I made a table runner out of ruled paper, and scattered mini colourful alphabet cookies from Blueeyed Baker around the table!

The night before her first day of school, I gave both kiddos new school bus printed jammies to sleep in (is there anything better than new pjs?) - a good night’s sleep before school is a must! Then I set the table and got everything ready that night so that she would wake up to a fun breakfast celebration before her first day of school! I love starting new family traditions and this might have to become one!
