tea for two - 2nd birthday party
I couldn’t resist planning a tea party for Lauren’s second birthday! I set up our backyard for the party since it was nice day in July. I brought out her teepee, little table+chairs, and filled our table with tea-party treats. There were mini cupcakes, macarons, jelly rolls, banana bread slices, blueberry mini muffins, fruit, iced herbal fruit tea and juice. I made a “tea for two” with foil letter balloons, and a few more assorted balloons that matched the colour scheme.
I made her cake ahead of time and froze the layers, so that all I had to do the day before her party was add a bit of icing, and top it with fresh fruit and flowers.
For activities, I made some pretty ribbon wands for the kids to play with, and added some cute teacup tags and tulle to decorate the bubble wands. I put out a pail of sidewalk chalk, and made tea-party themed colouring sheets on clipboards with jars of crayons.
For party favours I put fruit snacks in little “tea” bags that I added tags to that said “you’re two sweet”. The kids had fun filling the little pink and white striped bowls with their snacks.
Would it even be a tea party with out macarons and mini cupcakes? I had friends of mine make these and they turned out so cute!
