valentine's day heart party
Well I knew I wanted to plan a fun little valentine’s day party for the kids - but when A Little Confetti launched their super sweet collection of valentine’s day party supplies - I ended up loving the little conversation heart plates so much that our party turned into a conversation-heart party!
I got heart plates and napkins, heart print cups, pink foil straws, and little conversation heart treat cups, and wooden cutlery from A Little Confetti to set up our party table. I used our coffee table and put pillows around it so the kids could have a little picnic party! For snacks we had heart waffles (with sprinkles+whip cream of course!), heart marshmallows, heart cookies, and of course - conversation heart candies! We also had strawberry yogurt parfaits and strawberry sparkling water with heart ice cubes made out of juice!
I made these little conversation heart pinatas and filled them with fun little surprises: madegood mini granola bars, heart stickers, glow sticks, hair elastics, a necklace, and other small treats.
What’s a party without candles? This heart sparkler was so fun and made our stack of heart waffles feel like a special cake! I used this mini heart waffle maker and I was actually shocked how good it worked - each waffle turned out perfectly!
I made the little heart wands with supplies I already had on hand. I cut little hearts out of some canvas fabric and stamped smaller hearts onto the front with acrylic paint. For the back, I used gold glitter fabric. I sewed them both together, stuffed the inside with cotton and attached an 8” long dowel for the wand. To finish it off, I tied on some pink, yellow and blue ribbon, and used a gold fabric pen to write “XOXO” on the hearts.
For their outfits - I was SO excited to give Lauren this adorable light pink tutu from TutuLove Shop ! She normally doesn’t like tutus because they can be scratchy - but this one is so soft and flowy, and it is also lined which makes it really comfortable! I wanted their shirts to match the party so I bought plain white long sleeved tshirts and stamped the hearts on them with fabric paint! I used a foam hear sticker on the bottom of a glass and it worked surprisingly well as a DIY stamp! I added mostly green hearts on Ethan’s shirt to match his pants, and mostly pink hearts on Lauren’s to match her tutu.
Is it even a party if you don’t throw confetti? The kids always find this so much fun, and so do I! We used this ‘best friends’ confetti and the colours are so sweet that I almost don’t even mind still finding it all over my house!
