whimsical, modern daisy first birthday party!

In April, I got to plan the sweetest daisy party for my sweet little niece’s first birthday! My brother-in-law’s family had JUST moved into their new house so it was exciting to celebrate in their new home too! I loved planning this party - something about daisies is so HAPPY and brings out all the spring vibes! The party was a week after Easter, so it felt like spring! I wanted to include lots of fresh flowers, natural materials, soft colours and garden-inspired goodies!

I LOVED the custom balloon garland from A Little Confetti that created a fun backdrop for the party - the colours were perfect! And of course, these pretty daisy-shaped plates, daisy + gingham printed plates, daisy sunglasses from A Little Confetti made the perfect decor as well!

I made this “one” banner with linen, felt + yarn, but you can download your own customized file to print your own banner here!

This cake that Caitie (Blueeyed Baker) made turned out SO GOOD, and looked perfect on top of this gorgeous marble+wood cake stand from Simply T Events (they have so many beautiful pieces that you can rent for your special event! I love having a special cake stand so being able to rent an item like this is KEY!)

I made the cake topper with felt, and cut out millions of daisies on my cricut to make the daisy toppers! I added a little yellow felt centre to them and I love how they turned out! (again, what did i DO before i had a cricut???)

For the party favours, I found these mini cream-coloured metal watering cans (from dollarama! i know!) that had a daisy print on them and instantly knew they’d be perfect! I filled them with: daisy hair clips + scrunchies, felt daisy headband, madegood granola snack, daisy dough homemade playdough, and a flower seed pop (find the DIY here!). So fun!

I love adding custom stationery to keep the party looking cohesive - like these little “oh happy daisy!” favour cards and labels for the daisy dough! I used my go-to recipe for the playdough, but added lemon essential oil!

Of course, we had to include Nora’s first birthday milestone poster and her monthly photos!

What I love about A Little Confetti shop is that you can find EVERYTHING you need for your party all in one spot! They have tableware, decor, balloons, and fun things for party favours! (and if you’re local to YYC you can pick up!) Kristin is also so helpful and will always go above and beyond! I am so grateful to have a local source to party goods right now, as we all know shipping and supply issues are still crazy right now, and small shops deserve all the love!!
