Fall Decor - DIY garland
While my mom was here visiting this week I enlisted her help with my crafting - learning how to crochet! I had this idea to make a fall garland out of leaves and thought I should put some of my yarn stash to good use!
I had crocheted a few times as a child (the crafter in me runs deep), but i didn’t actually know what the stitches were called, or how to read a pattern…enter my mom - not only a teacher by trade, but a total crocheting pro.
We had so much fun making these leaves together (although it took me a lot longer to to perfect each one!) Good thing my goal was random-sizes and shapes! We mostly followed this pattern we found, and modified it slightly but making the leaves longer/wider to keep them varied.
I then chained a long strand for the string - and tied on each leaf with more yarn. That’s it! A simple fall garland that will always remind me of spending some quality time with my mom - and a cozy sweater!
