holiday gingerbread fun

Sitting by a warm fire…Christmas tree glowing…decorating gingerbread cookies wearing matching checkered Christmas sweaters? Sounds pretty delightful if you ask me! (even if the weather outside is frightful…because trust me, it was! I think we had 2 weeks straight of -30C weather before Christmas so we had to find fun + festive things to do indoors!

I picked up a gingerbread house kit from 8Cakes, (featuring candy from SugarCube too - our fav!), and it had everything you need to make a sweet little red velvet house! I put some icing in piping bags and bought gingerbread cookies and extra candy for more decorating fun! Things got a little wild near the end, but we had fun eating treats and making a sugary creative mess along the way!

For the table set up, I couldn’t resist the gingerbread collection from A Little Confetti, (plates, napkins, + paper table runner), as well as these little Christmas village house plates - the colours are just the sweetest! Oh, and these checkered napkins that matched Lauren’s sweater perfectly? as if!!
