mother's day tea party
What do you get when you combine a tea party with my kids, pretty florals, mini-gift boxes of spa goodies and of course all the delicious treats? All of my favourite things!
Earlier this week, I was feeling a little sad about missing out on the little tea party that Lauren’s preschool normally holds for all the mamas (which was cancelled this year due to covid restrictions). And with our province in another lock down right now - restaurants, patios + spas are closed, so I decided to put this little party of our own together to celebrate mother’s day with my littles! I decorated the table with floral plates, pink cutlery, and straws all from A Little Confetti, with a beautiful floral arrangement from Fall for Florals in the middle. For tea party snacks, I made little cucumber sandwiches and strawberry mini cupcakes, and bought blueberry scones, shortbread cookies and macarons to add to our delicious spread!
As always, what’s a party without a little party favour? I LOVE putting together little gift boxes, and what mama doesn’t deserve a little spa treatment? I found these little brown paper boxes at the dollar store, and decoupaged the lids with floral paper napkins from A Little Confetti to match the rest of the table decor. In each one I included a pink facecloth, lip balm, bath bomb, resin hair clip and a few skin care samples. I love how the bath bomb almost looks like a scoop of ice cream at each place setting! I am going to give these little gift boxes to a few special mommas (and nanas and grandmas!) in my life!
Lauren put together this little box of craft supplies to colour a special picture for me for mother’s day! This lovely colouring page is by Hip Hooray Studios and it is just the sweetest - along with Elise and all of her beautiful artwork! Lauren is a BIG fan of the create kits that she carries in her shop as well!
